GC Realty & Development LLC is proud to share the stories of two brave children from Gilberts, Illinois. Lucas Winarski, a fifth-grade student, has been fighting a rare pediatric bone cancer, PHE, since July of 2015. Only three other cases of PHE exist in the United States. Kaylee Clark, a first-grade student, also fights for her life. Kaylee was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia when she was just 9 months old. Recently, Kaylee went back into remission as a result of the success of her recent bone marrow transplant from her big brother, Christian.
Both children, and their families, are going through tremendous pressure in their lives and we, as a company, want to share in their fight. Therefore, for the second year in a row, GCR&D has supported this cause by purchasing and printing two hundred t-shirts that are sold to local supporters. With the donation of the shirts by GCR&D, 100% of the proceeds of the t-shirt sales go directly to the families.
Bryan Sonn, a partner at GCR&D, has been the driving force in this effort as he holds the cause near and dear to his heart. In 2006, Bryan lost his only sister to Neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that develops from immature nerve cells found in several areas of the body. Since Bryan’s loss, he has dedicated resources in both his personal and professional life to assist in supporting these families to help them get through these tough times.
